Rosemary Vale and Matthew Foster kept their winter wedding simple and personal. The couple had been together for seven years when they decided it was time to make their commitment to each other everlasting.
Early photo shoot
A winter wedding meant Rosemary and Matthew were facing a lack of daylight if they chose to have their photographs taken after the ceremony. So the couple, and their photographer, decided to take their photos earlier in the day before the ceremony to ensure they had plenty of light.
New arrival
Rosemary’s sister was heavily pregnant in the final days leading up to the wedding. She ended up giving birth two days before the wedding, and was able to take her place as a bridesmaid in the wedding party. “She was nine days overdue and we weren’t sure if she would make it,” Rosemary said.
Country meeting
Matthew was originally from Mansfield, and Rosemary originally from Picola. The pair met at a B&S Ball in Corowa, NSW in 2009. Rosemary said the long-distance relationship was very challenging. The pair eventually relocated to Yalca together where Matt took on the role as a farmhand and Rosemary became a primary school teacher.
Fashionably late
Adhering to tradition, Rosemary was fashionably late to her own ceremony, but not through any fault of her own. “On the way to the church the limo was held up by the neighbour shifting sheep,” Rosemary said.
